Default Heroes in UW? YES!!

A guildy and I just made it to Chantry of Secrets yesterday, and realizing that it was the portal to the UW and FOW, we decided to try it out just for grins. Even though Gaile said you can only take heroes places your hench can go, as you can see we made it into UW just fine.

We were busy doing Nightfall primary quests, trying to level heroes as we advanced the storyline. This is why my heroes are very low level. And the builds are certainly not optimized for UW. However as it was, we were able to complete the first quest before the DP was too much. And the ecto drop I got more than paid for the trip.

I'm not sure if this works anywhere else than Chantry of Secrets, and didn't have time to try it out last night but I will as soon as I can.

Gaile, if you're watching, I hope this is not a bug and will stay. I hate looking for PUGs for UW and FOW, and if we can bring heroes and a few trusted friends along, then this will make those areas more accessible to players like me in smaller guilds.

Cool, i hope that it wasn't just a mistake on ANET's part. I went on a fissure run last night with some other guys, and they brought there heroes along along with them We had a blast, and did pretty well too.

You can take heros anywhere, including TOA's UW/FOW entrance or Cantha's elite missions.

LOL yeah, I DID say the builds weren't optimized :-)

But we did ok in spite of it. With a proper setup they'd wreck the UW.

BTW that Monk build is typically what I use in PVE...it does well as long as you don't spam the heals and choose your targets well. I used to have MoR but decided WoH was better if you choose carefully. Cancel the DB when you're having energy problems. That build got me two protector titles (mostly with hench), Sorrow's Furnace, Titan quests, etc. It's not the best build out there but it works for me and I can play it well.

Don't heros take their fair share of drops... that including ectos!

So maybe farming with hero's isn't that great.

but the point is, you would share drops with humans as well, just that

1) humans mostly suck
2) theres the chance they just run off (for whatever reasons)
3) nobody likes to play with others anymore, its all about heroes and hench now

>_> PLUS ITS FUN!

Yes they get a share just like heanchmen. Still you dont get to see what heros get & you dont get any whines as in "omGZ cn I hav that plzzzzz!!11" or someone rushing around starting all quests. Also you can make sure they bring skills that work togheter with the team.

(Not that everyone in a pug is awful, just most are some days it seems).

I have mine out for that and sometimes i just like to know the energy status of the monk or other casters. This way if we are gettin pwned and the hero monk and i have no e, it's time to retreat

I like this idea. When I get my hero's leveled up I can hopefully take them into FoW and UW and finally be able to explore the entire area. Yes, I am one of the few people who have rarely been in either place. The farthest I have been in FoW has been with a group to the armor guy. The UW, well, I have only been in there a hand full of times and only seen the area around the entrance. So hopefully there will be some guides soon on how to use heroes to explore these areas as a ele

Answer is NO. Maybe hard for you but not for everyone. 2man UW is still doable and now you can do it without humans. Just need the right build and know how to control your hero during combat.
